Little Red Wagon First Birthday Bash

This past week we were closed to regular orders for a very special celebration. My little guy celebrated his very first birthday, Little red wagon style! I must admit I adore decorating party tables and creating party table-scapes so this was a welcomed break from simply cake decorating. The Party table included a 4-tier white chocolate truffle cake, red velvet cupcakes, cake pops, marshmallow pops, assorted cookies and candy. Party-going kiddos enjoyed water slide fun, a snow-cone making machine, and left the party with a customizable travel mug with their names on them. It was a fun time had by all ;-)

It's a beautiful day for reminiscing about one of our most popular cakes. This rustic dessert table's centerpiece is a 3-tiered textured butter cream cake adorned with bands of burlap and hand-made burlap ruffle blossoms, and completed with a Willow-Tree Angel "embrace" cake topper. Other desserts offered to guests were "Classical Red Velvet Cupcakes" iced with cream cheese butter cream rosettes.
This elegant nuptial celebration took place at Camp Carlson in Muldraugh, KY.

Doing a little catch up today, and I wanted to share these great Frozen Cupcake Tower cakes that I created for 2 very special little girls a couple weeks ago. One of which was for my darling niece who turned the big 4!! Love her! The main difference in these two, as you will notice is mostly the color. My niece's decor incorporated pink and purple as well. These looks were both created with airbrush colors.

She was so excited about Aunt Shanon's cake and cupcakes, lol! She said it was her favorite part of her birthday :-), Now that will melt your heart!! She and I are from the pod I tell ya.

It a historic snow fall day, here in central Kentucky. We have over 11 inches here at our shop. What better thing to do than work on updating this blog! Ah.. finally. a little time for social media updates.. yes please!

So, last week was the week of LOVE! And we were super swamped getting out our Valentine orders. Here is a brief look at some of our favorite shots of our Valentines product lineup.

Planes, Fire and Rescue Birthday Cake

I really wasn't sure how I was going to incorporate such a rocky setting on this cake. Especially since the client didn't pay for anything sculpted. But I was really pleased at what nice boulders the rice krispy treats made. I added the banner above the plane as the finishing touch to carry on the plane theme. The licensed "Dusty Crop-hopper" plane was purchased through DecoPac.

We are Back!!!

So, four years and another baby later, and here I am! Ready to be back and post some of the great things that are happening for Cakes by Camille! I will try to update as much as possible. Ya'll bare with me. You know as well as I do, It's hard to find time to pee, when your a mommy to more than one child, so here's hoping we can make time to blog about all our fabulous goodies!!
Blessings,
Shanon Camille

Baby Mickey Mouse First Birthday

Ok, so I have to admit, I really wasn't thrilled about this theme when the client requested it. They wanted the cake to be a reflection of a "Baby Mickey First Birthday" party decor set they found online. I'm not the crazy about the character themed parties, but one thing I was super excited to try out was my new backdrops!
It was Friday night, and I had already called it a day... left the shop and decided to do the cake in a polka dot and stripe pattern, which was also used on the party decor. Once I was home and relaxing, it kept knawwing at me.... You need to add Mickey somewhere, add mickey somewhere.....
So... I couldn't fight it, I had to go back into the shop and break out some black fondant and add those final touches....
Now... Look how great they make the cake POP!!! Love, love, love it now!!
One of my favorite things is to set up party table-scapes! I just so happen to have the jars of yellow jelly beans and that gorgeous antique aqua candy dish! It just made the shot! I'm looking forward to trying out more of my new photography skills and tricks. Ya'll stay tuned. Much more to come from me ;-) Blessings...
